Passengers who experience delays or cancellations within the airline’s control to receive $75 in vouchers.
The U.S. Department of Transportation is requiring Southwest Airlines to offer travel vouchers worth at least $75 to customers whose flights are delayed or canceled. Customers may apply for these vouchers within seven days of a canceled flight or a flight delayed by more than three hours. No vouchers will be issued if flights are delayed or canceled due to weather.
“After the 2022 holiday meltdown, our department held Southwest Airlines accountable—and now the airline is required to compensate passengers for lengthy delays and cancellations that they cause,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “We’re pleased to bring these benefits to passengers, and further show the flying public that the Biden-Harris Administration has their back.”
Under the agreement, the airline has created an online form for passengers to request compensation.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Buttigieg and Transportation Department officials as they seek to protect airline passengers from avoidable delays and cancellations of flights.
- For FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker and NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy to be led by God as they seek to ensure safe air travel.
